Case Study 1

A long established family company recently expanded due to securing a new sales contract; this expansion took the workforce from 8 to 22 employees. Previous to the expansion management felt they did not require robust HR systems as the staff numbers were so low and many employees were family members. However on securing the new contract the Managing Director knew he needed better systems in place to protect himself and the organisation in the future.

The management team felt that getting such systems in place would distract them from setting up the new contract and would mean that the new systems were not ready for the new employees when they needed them onboard.

We assisted with the advertising and structured interview process, provided then with an induction session and some basic Health & Safety materials ready for the contract commencement. We also created their long term materials such as contracts of employment, policies and trained the management team in some fundamental areas. The Managing Director felt that once the policies and system were in place his team would be able to keep them updated with changes in legislation and therefore chose not to become a retained customer, but pay for days worked to achieve the agreed scope of works.
